Since the invasion of the B's it feels as though the pace of life is accelerated. Week ends have been hectic as Erica and the grands have been joining us, too. But in all this, I am still trying to find time to get in some down time. I finally picked up my needles again after too much time off and this is what I cast on:
Called the Noble Cowl, it is worked in a lacy stitch pattern. I chose a nubby cotton blend in a yummy soft shell color. Should be a good pick me up in the gray of winter. I am still rather new at working in the round with this my second project. I am still busy working on another pair of socks, I like to keep a pair going as they are easy and mindless work. Love this color.
With Becca around it is assumed that we will be making quilts and sewing other projects. On a trip for inspiration I found this and just could not resist. Can a person have too many craft books? Most certainly not in my world;-).
Everything in this book is just oh so cute!! Here are are few of my favorites! I have just the fabric in mind for this adorable shirt and as for these so cute pajamas, I am making them into a cute outfit for day time wear. I just love making kids clothes, whether knitting or sewing! They offer quick results for those of us who need that instant gratification. Now I just need the inspiration to get a quilt made in my new living room colors!
One last and simply fun find. I love the work of this artist! Everything she does is fun. The bold colors and abstract design just screams energy. I discovered her work on the WallaFaces wine label and when I found a display of her work at the local Farmer's Market, well who could possibly resist! I chose these tiles as I think they resemble my daughters and self.
These would interpret wonderfully into a quilt wouldn't they? Hmmmm….may just have to play around with that….
I want a pair of socks!!! I still want to go look at the place you bought those faces!! I have a 4 day weekend this upcoming weekend for the 4th of July!!
