Good bye to Summer

I’ve been very remiss in my blog as usual!  It just seems that with not working I have less time than ever!  But what a wonderful summer it has been!  It ended on a high note with a week long visit with two precious grandsons and one very grown up granddaughter!!

Two boys in the house made for some busy play!  The dogs were in heaven with the boys there too!

Every night we had fresh blackberry shakes!  Look at those faces!  Jayse is just always so serious looking!

Doodle and I did manage to squeeze in some girl time!  She just got a fun make over at Sephora.  But I find her beautiful inside and out make up or not!!!

My Jayse is so smart!  We put together several puzzles and he is a very good puzzler!  Takes after his grandma!!

While Doodle and I had a girls day, the hubby took the boys to the beach.  They had a grand time!

All too soon they had to head home and life resumed its normal routine once again.

I got busy and completed the kits that Erica and I had started.  I love these bags!

Becca knitted up a quick pair of vanilla socks from one of the yarns in a kit.  Love them!!

Also dyed up some sock blanks.

I couldn’t resist and gave in and bought a copy of Swoon Maine.  I love the child’s vest in it and quickly cast one on in another of my hand dyed yarns.

This is a cashmere merino blend and I love knitting on it!   Plus I just love how this colorway came out.  The grey lavender background with pops of color is like a party on my needles!

I also finished another skull cap….making several for Christmas gifts.  For this I used some cascade 220 superwash that I snagged in an IG destash.

And I finally cast on this adorable Rosy Elephant cap that I picked up at Twisted last year.  It is beyond adorable!

I have been very naughty with the IG destashes!  It’s like an addiction, but I have gotten treasures!  Here’s what my mail has been looking like.

But dear me!  The treasures I’ve snagged for so little!  Heather Ross OOP, Tula, AMH OOP, Tasha Noel, the list goes on!  And at a fraction of the retail costs!  I have bag making fabric galore along with sweet dressmaking for the littles, and quilting treasures.  I even grabbed books.  Here is one of the projects I’m working on from a $5 book grab.

Pretty Little Patchwork is the book and filled with adorable goodies!  Yes my stash has grown exponentially and I could not be happier! I’m already planning a serious sewing room redo with IKEA style cube shelving!!!

With fall in the air, I dug out my fall and Halloween decor and will transform the house today!  Love love love Autumn decor!

I had given much away to my girls but slowly building up my collection once again.  Thanks to yard sales and after holiday clearance sales I have some very nice pieces!  You know me ever the bargain hunter!  Don’t pay full price for anything!

And speaking of bargains!  Look what moved into town!!!

Our very own St. Vinnies!  Across the street is a Sallies too!  Thrifting heaven!

And so it has been a busy month.  Lots on big changes coming soon which I’ll share in a few weeks!

Happy Autumn!!

Patricia
