January musings and some Bliss

When the weather turns so cold and bleak, I find myself becoming much more introspective.  Darkness creeping in so early forces me to stay inside more and that gives me lots of time to just think while knitting or crafting away.  Funny how our minds never really stop working but are always adrift taking us here and there often as fleeting and skittish as a butterfly.  With all this mind time I have been contemplating on how God always seems to bring us the right people/circumstances/events in our lives at a time when we are generally ready to take the next leap of faith or growth.  Of course that does not mean we will embrace it and often fight it tooth and nail….well I sometimes do anyway.  Just my musings this day….

My Jimmy is a football fan so while he was busy watching his beloved Redskins, I took the opportunity to get in some Bliss time.  It was definitely chilly but the sun was shining and I could not resist.

I love these sheep!!

First ride of the season is alway so sweet!  And since I have been spinning along at the local Y classes for a few months, I already had my saddle seat and some pretty strong legs.

The next day after all that beautiful sunshine winter hit.  Big, fat, beautiful snowflakes came down covering the ground quickly.

It did not stay long, but it was beautiful while it lasted.  I think we may have a winter with little to no snow.

When my Jimmy and I got together we saw a sign that said "It is never to late to live happily ever after" and just loved it.  Well I found a sign back in November and ordered it up.  It was on back order forever and I gave up ever seeing it.  Tuesday the UPS man showed up with this:

I love it!  We placed it on the mantle where we can be reminded every day that it truly never is too late to live happily ever after!

Being a chamber ambassador has been one of my favorite activities since moving here.  Last week it gave Jimmy and I the opportunity to have reserved seats for the AMC Roadshow, Showville.  Showville visits communities and spotlights local talent with the audience voting on the final winner.  While I cannot divulge any info on the finalist or winner as the show will not air until spring, I can tell you it was a great time.  Lots of energy by the contestants, audience, and hosts.  It was a great evening out!

And now how are those resolutions going?  Mine have been purring along perfectly.  My workout volume has increased once again and I am seeing some real results already.  Adding  Yoga, Spin, and Power Pump classes at the Y has really made a big difference.  I am also focusing once again on lifting regularly and mindfully concentrating on building up those muscles.  My fitness time is my sanity time during a busy day!

And now to go and engage more in that living happily ever after stuff!

It's never too late!

WELCOME 2013!!

I really love this!  It is much better than making resolutions.  But that being said it is time to do a yearly check up on how my last years resolutions played out.  My 2012 goal was to obtain a balance between work and life.  It was my year to spend time engaged in pursuits outside of work that I enjoyed; friends, family, and getting back to the gym.  I not only met all those goals but had the added sweetness of ending the year engaged to a wonderful man and looking forward to what lies ahead for us.

So what goals do I have for this year?  Well to continue to live a balanced life, to embrace all that life has to offer me, to learn to really live mindfully and in the present, to avoid negativity and embrace the positive, and to continue to take my fitness to the next level.  Good list and very attainable.  I expect some changes this year in both my professional and personal life and need to be prepared to embrace those changes.

Biggest change in 2012:

Having a special person in my life again has been pretty darn awesome.  It was so unexpected and I certainly was not looking.  Just like the Universe to send me spinning when I least expected it.  Living with someone after living alone for so long was actually so easy.  One of the great things about this relationship is that we have found everything to just be so easy and natural.  Feels like we have always been together and were always meant to be together.  Darn tootin sweet to find that at this stage in my life.

I just had to add this above the bed.  I have always loved this saying…

Yup life is pretty tootin sweet!!

To ring in the New Year we had some special guests.  Two sweet peas;

Loving it at grandma's cause she always buys their favorite foods.  Has been too long since I had sweet peas come to stay.  Loving it…

On keeping balanced here is my current stack of books.  Love Kate Morton and this is her newest!  Hahn is awesome for personal growth and learning to really live in the moment.  Love Dare is so highly recommended by my daughter so Jimmy and I decided to give it a read.

With the winter days closing in the gurlz like to join us by the fire.

Of course this is always after our daily walks.  Not sure who loves those walks more, us or them.

And now time to head to the gym.  My fav home away from home!!

Happy New You!!
